Mmmmnn... Yeah, yikes. So, first off, as you can likely tell, I'm not dead! Yippee. Truthfully, work has had me absolutely swamped these past couple months, and our month or two of low activity really didn't help me all that much. And now we're starting to ramp up big time going into the summer... Wonderful, I know. I've been burnt out in general, trying my best to keep my head above water and not collapse under the pressure and stress of everything. I don't have a great work/life balance, and that's really taking its toll, haha...

That aside, creative endeavors aren't dead, I've just really struggled finding sufficient motivation to get anything going. It's a little embarrassing how little I've been able to accomplish... I'm still trying to find some idea that...

So, things have been busy these past few months! Life's been really hectic since I got my job - thankfully nothing bad, but man, it's just been a lot. To be frank, I haven't had a lot of time to really work on anything creative. I usually come home at night just...sort of mentally checked out, and that means I've been lacking the drive or energy to write. Not to say I haven't tried, but progress has been ungodly slow. So, May's actually been quite a busy month for me, for better and worse. The biggest thing that's happened is that I got a job...shortly after I announced I was doing commissions, and made my decision on which submission to do... Haha... This was not planned, things just kinda happened. This unfortunately means that my "pour my nearly endless free time into writing" approach to things has kinda come to a bit of an abrupt end. I don't have nearly as much time to myself as I did before, and honestly, I'm usually pretty exhausted - both physically and mentally - when I get home after work. Maybe this is something...

The 30th has come and gone, and that means the commission slot is now closed! I'd like to thank those who made submissions for their wonderful ideas, and I'm really excited to see where things go from here.

I'm going to do the cliché content creator thing and say this was not something I ever thought I'd be making. Since the beginning of time, I've said repeatedly that I'm uncomfortable with the idea of doing commissions, and that the pressure of a monetary incentive would put untold amounts of stress on me. But in all honesty, I've reached a point as a creator where I'm confident enough in my abilities that I'm willing to try. Now, here's where I put the asterisks.

This will be a trial run. In order to test if I really am capable of handling something like this, and whether or not it's something I'd like to continue doing in the future, I will have ONE commission slot open starting today. And when it's closed, it's closed, no ifs,...

Bit cheating for some alliteration, ha. As I'm writing this, the main project I've been working on is winding down, in what I would consider to be its final phase. At this moment, it sits at 32,587 words, beating my longest story up until now by over 6,000 words. It'll probably still be a fair bit longer than this, but, I believe that with any luck, there's a good chance of it coming out sometime in March. Ideally, I would have had something out...a little sooner, but this project basically became my sole creative focus. Oops. It's gonna feel so good once this is finally done, but I still have some great moments in mind I have yet to put to page yet. And really, it's great to still be so excited about something this deep in! But until then, peace.

I'm just gonna cut to the chase right out the gate and say hey, there's not gonna be anything this month. Beyond the usual life stuff getting in the way, quite frankly, what I'm currently working on is nowhere near done yet. That's not to say I haven't been doing anything, far from it. In fact, I just hit 25K on my primary project today! My record up until now which really isn't saying much considering I hit it a few months ago has been 26,262 words, and considering where I am in the story yeah, we're hitting a new record again! Yippee... Honestly, at this point, I've turned off the word count just for my own sanity. I'll see how long it is whenever I'm done......

Well, as hard as it may be to believe, 2023 is almost for people in the states, at least at an end. While it may have had its fair share of ups and downs, I just want to take a few minutes to say, thank you. It's as simple as that, really. The amount of support that I've received in the past year has been beyond words, and it means so much to me. Like, about a year ago, I made a blog about how I just hit 100,000 views - which still baffles me, by the way - and here we are at just over 174,000. That's absolutely insane, considering those initial 100,000 were made over the course of 2 years, with very inconsistent uploading throughout. Numbers don't mean everything, of course, but it's still incredible to know that people have popped in to check out what I do that much. Thank you. ...

With a...slightly arrogant-sounding title, it's that time of the month again no not that one, the monthly blog thing! Yippee, hoozah, and all that jazz.

So, what's up this time around? Well, besides the never fun, negative-leaning life stuff, a fair bit, actually! The biggest one being that, the next thing - which I had already started by the time the last one went up - has been progressing nicely! It's currently...according to my notes, just about 600 words shorter than the last one. And you may say, Wow, so that means it'll be going up soon, right? ...Right... Ha... Uh, no? Truth is, I have no clue! See, that one was about...16,400 words, and that by itself made up a complete story. Whereas I am absolutely nowhere near...
