unnamed world Posted 7 years ago
The primus behind a fictional world, and the world building that goes into it affects what is plausable and impossible within that world. To that end, we need to contemplate the becoming of the world, and the how and why of it's creation.

I have build many fantasy worlds, and like the idea of a disk with mountains around the rim and a sea in the middle. This allows for the bulk of the land to be one continent, but also leaves open the possibly of islands.
The how of fantasy worlds' creation tends to be in the hands of the what passes for the divine of the world. The why is where things can get complicated.

Why did the divine create the world, also reflects on the nature of the divine. A contest would suggest conflict between factions of the divine. A test...

Weapons, Tools, and Non-Human Hands Posted 7 years ago
Been thinking a lot on this while doing my world building.

While the end of the tool or weapon that does the work may not change much due to function dictating design, there are a few options on how tools can be held for use.

Finger slots or holes would allow creatures without thumbs, or very few digits to control the tool, but the size of the slot or holes restricts the size of the digits that can handle any individual item.

Bracer mounts could entail two parallel rods that get affixed to a bracer or gauntlet by straps, and this would allow use by creatures of similar size but different digits, but would not work for creatures with wing-arms.

A hybrid with digit holes and two parallel rods would cover several methods of use, but so long...

Weapons and Thinking like the Animal Posted 7 years ago
Predators, both carnivores and omnivores, tend to have teeth and claws to catch prey. This suggests that it would be the prey anthros that develop the first weapons.

Being a predator myself, I find it hard to think like and relate to prey. Mice, Bunnies, Deer, Sheep, and Fairies each have different advantages, but that I know of, it's mostly ways to evade the predator.

Anthros have magic and knowledge, and therefore more to lose when facing a predator. This should mean being willing to figure out ways and weapons to fend of the predator.

I've tried alternative time-line builds before, and it seems there is always someone who thinks the modern human way is the only way, yet I'm working with world's where humans never existed.

So, how to...

World Building Posted 7 years ago
I've been slowly developing my own fantasy world, and my most recent development was a good web, which I shared the problems, basics, and results of in the forums. As such, I now know the shape and what lives there.

I have five namesless, faceless, genderless divided whom created this world for unknown reasons. The technology that would be developed by humans doesn't rationally fit directly into a world of Anthros and magic.

So, despite the world becoming more believable, new problems are arrising, too.

Questions on tools, weapons, buildings, and defenses are now a major issue. Looking over the races/creatures, human concepts, designs, and thinking no longer apply.
K-ON characters and Academy development Posted 7 years ago
I've taken a couple of my old characters, and built a couple new characters, too. The are all suppose to be attending an Academy, but for the most part the Academy is just a shell/Backdrop. The four characters also feel just as flat and empty.

I was hoping this would spark something, but my mind seems to be full of dead ends and partial details.

Not sure what to have the Academy focus on, not sure how the girls meet, and not sure why they got into vore.
Wordpress Site Posted 7 years ago
Alright, the wordpress site is up and mostly together, with a summary post of what has happened so far in the Blogs. (Also, have a map on the original blog.) So, going to be able to build the story their, and use RPG Maker to create simple scenes.

Things are still going slow, but looking better.

Beginning this will allow me to build a much larger world than the basic games I have been doing, and is less limiting in options.

Hope to see some comments on the site, so I can build the world and story.
RPG Class System Posted 7 years ago
Alright, I applied for a Gallery, and not sure how long that will take, but wanted to get started with some basics.

Expert is a skill based class that can focus on four of the skill areas, and thus gain a +1 bonus on those skills, and a +1 bonus to Agility from picking this class. Later the class gives an option for Skill Mastery which allows the bonus on one skill to be raised to a +2 bonus. (The skills are not complete yet, but here is a current list; Acrobatics, Alchemy, Awareness, Crafting{Sub-Types}, Healing, Knowledge{Sub-Types}, Lock & Traps, Magical Tools, Mountaineering, Social, Stealth, and Survival.)

Healer is a class based on Divine devotion and understanding, and thus grants a +1 bonus to the Healing Skill, and a +1 bonus to Mind. As...

Blog RPG Posted 7 years ago
With so few people track (and therefore interacting with) this RPG, I'm going to let this version die. I'm not really a writer or artist (yet), but I will see about getting a gallery now that I have home internet.

I have been considering doing it anyway since I am becoming more active on the site, and it will give me more ways to interact with the rest of the community.

I am going to see about creating a few mock up pieces in RPG Maker for the maps, and Game Character Hub for a few characters.

Also, the combat system is still untested, but is going to be either d10 based, or d12 based. The d10 already feels more balanced, but so far I'm only looking at the low level effects.

The d20 system, while more widely known, feels to powerful for a...

Blog RPG 1 - 001 Posted 7 years ago
Mthekiller caught on to the opening to name the main character.

"Semira shall be my name, and I shall seek to master the treacherous and emotional element of fire." She said with confidence. With her name and element formally known, Semira was presented a simple, unadorned rod by her master.

"Semira of the flame, we shall listen to the stories of your progress. May your journey be long and grand." Although not part of the formal send off, her master hugs Semira and whispers, "Good luck."

Ember: You conjure a fist size loose blob of flame, and hurl it at your target.

Torch: You conjure a small glob of light that glows like a torch.

Spark: You conjure a fist size ball of...

Blog RPG 1-000 Posted 7 years ago
Votes and comments are kind of necessary for feed back, but to get this going, I'm using the only race to get more than on vote and the class that will reveal the most about magic.

It is dawn as (unknown) awakens in her family cottage in the high branches of the Millennium Tree. Looking out the window, she can see the central ocean throughout the outer branches and leaves.

Today (unknown) will be beginning her adventure to refine and strengthen her magical skill. She frees in a simple knee-length dress, sturdy boots, and a leather tunic.

Body: 2
Agility: 4
Mind: 4
Charm: 3

Defence: 2

As (unknown) makes her way down the twisted paths of the hidden village, she smiles and waves to her friends...
