Those who use the chatroom here will probably see nothing new in this entry (which I think was neccessary since I haven't posted anything for ages).
All right, now that I chased all the chat-users away (*gape-grins*), here is what I thought would worth sharing. These days I've been quite busy developing this and that, most importantly - to this community - programs for the chat. One of these is a log viewer which allows people to view logs and get the posts of more than three characters. This is a little gift for those who like to have larger roleplays with more people participating or others joining in. It can be a pain if you want to hunt all the posts belonging to a roleplay if you have to view ALL the characters because there were more than 3 in the game itself.

I figured it has been a while since I updated my blog last time and that were not-so-happy news. For a change, in this blog entry I do not know what to write. Nothing interesting has happened in the past few weeks really. The only major change is that I finally installed linux again. I couldn't get myself to do that since the last computer accident that destroyed nearly everything. Now it's up and running and I feel happy like the old man in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I think I'll go for a walk too. Anyway. I even slowed down with that game engine development. Usual lazyness, no need to worry about it or so I hope. I will continue working on that project when I feel like doing it and when I have enough time.
Oh and I've spent a week in Italy. 8O

I was really afraid of this to happen. My boss told me today to fire a very good friend and collegue... I think I'm getting sick. The guy is an excellent worker with good communication skills, a friend to everyone but the boss seems to be picking on him. I know a handful of employees who could get fired instead - boss said he has financial reasons, the company cannot pay so many workers... - because they're inexperienced and lack of different skills. Now, I know I will have to tell the guy he just lost his job. I feel terrible about it.

Ok, so here's the 'problem' what I have encountered just 10 minutes ago (minutes of course will keep passing while I type this entry but that doesn't really matter now does it? :P) So, I tried to regester myself at yahoo with the handle 'varenx' and servers answer kind of surprised me, there was someone else registered on that name. Then I just found it a funny idea to google for the nick and was wondering about the results, they turned out to be amazing. I thought it would be pretty unlikely to find more than my own account registered here. Yet, there were some surprising entries, e.g. a WoW character. 8O
Does anybody have an idea how could that happen? :roll:

Yeah, that's it. I'm feeling a little down at the moment. It could be the damn weather again, I guess, but there are a few things are disturbing me. I've been home the last three days and had nothing else to do (except a little paperwork), that got me into thinking a bit too much about my life and so on and I just realised that I'm practically nowehere from living a full life. I'm feeling myself a bit unneccessary everywhere and I have no idea what to do with it - therefore, I update my blog - and this makes me feel even worse.

Of course, I know everyone has such periods (Ok, maybe some luckier ones have not), I'm just not used to it. There are times I feel very...

Just like you read here. I'm at work and it's terrible. It's amazingly boring. At least the sun is shining, that makes me feel a bit better after the lots of rain and gray. My 'good' computer (the one I used to work on) was roasted due to some electrical error. Motherboard, CPU, graphics card, memory they're all gone now. I use a PI machine right now, it's awesome. 166Mhz is one of my greatest dreams! :mrgreen: Of course, I can't live long without a computer I can use for work, but I'll wait with buying a new one until Monday.
Good news? No, I can't think of anything at the moment. I feel fine despite of all this. IT'S SHINY! 8) :mrgreen: Oh, another thing I'm going to buy on Monday will be a Kurzweil PC-88mx stage piano. It's an absolutely amazing instrument.

Comments, I need. Advices. Mostly about the graphics of course, the rest will be done later. I'm just working on the engine at the moment. However. As the work goes further, I'm intended to make this a complete (very small of course) game.

It looks like to me. Nothing seem to happen. It's raining out there, it's getting annoying hearing it smashing into the window. My head hurts and not even the strongest coffee I've ever made helped it. I decided to take this day off, who else would be in the mood to go to work on such a day?
We had a birthday party a few days ago and the party service company brought 200 profiteroles above the ordered amount. I can say my whole family grew sick of it. Anyone ever seen kids refusing some dessert with a grimace of disguise on their faces? It worths all the money I have to say. :lol:

Phew, it's been a while... Well. I know this won't be satisfying enough for a real vorarephile but I'll post these pics anyway. Just to show something you people, I'm not _that_ lazy with the engine. :mrgreen: So, four little screenies and how I played around with some effects. As soon as I've written a good loader (Ogre XML files for now...), we're going to release a little techdemo, we already have some models for that. About the screens and before anyone wanted to complain about the models. They're nowhere compared to the complete feature list it will have, the terrain is rather simple (in the last one it has some random heightmap though), and there are no plants or anything to break that boring stuff. Soon. ;) Models: I found only those models on my HD. :P :lol: Now, enough talking,...
