Finally, at long last, after three years of either not being able to swing it or simply forgetting about it, I was actually able to attend Movement this year. For the uninitiated, Movement, or the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF), is a three-day festival held every Memorial Day weekend since, I believe, 2003, in downtown Detroit that celebrates the vibrant Detroit Techno scene and the myriad acts it encompasses, old and new. Outside acts also perform there, but it's mostly local DJs tearin' it up on the ones and twos.
Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, I was only able to attend the final day, Monday, when all my choice artists were performing (namely, Chemlab and Nitzer Ebb). My good buddy Mike was supposed to come along, but bailed on me at the last...
