Was Vivian a clown? No.

So why was it so hard to deny herself giggles and polite waves like she was one with the circus? People she’d never seen before - people she KNEW were out of town, people who didn’t speak her language but she understood their intent. Pose for a picture, give directions, flash a smile, bleat and let them squeeze her tummy.

Ooh, she loved it when they focused on her tummy.

“Gee, you’re taking to this like a fish to wat

The circus was in town!

Apparently.

Vivian wasn’t sure who exactly allowed this. She didn’t have her pulse on the local news, but even a nobody like her should’ve, like, heard about this? Maybe?

Autumn Weld was a sleepy little town. Smack dab in the middle of nowhere, its biggest attraction were the gas stop and helpful locals telling confused passer bys that they took the wrong right turn from the interstate. Five hundred-ish anthros, a mayoral cou

“I wanna go camping.” Jade said out of the blue.

“Huh?” Connor blinked twice. “Camping? You?”

He raised his eyebrow. Jade was a slob. No, straight up couch a potato, even. With the brunette’s… dietary habits, he wondered just how she managed her figure to stay so perfect. Maybe all those spells of her took a physical toll too?

“Yyyyeah? I don’t need a reason, dude.” So she obviously had one, Connor immediately assumed. “Look

Candles blown, pentagram smudged, ink washed. Why did she even bother trying?

Sitting on her living room couch, Laura buried her face in her hands, letting out a groan. The masks on the wall felt like they were leering at her, mocking. All that esoteric garbage she bought laying about her apartment was useless. It was fake, she always knew, but part of her couldn’t help but itch to try. Just once. Just one spell.

She recited the canticles, she threw salt to the

The world wasn’t exactly segregated between toons and humans, but the contrast between their cultures was stark. A 50’s café with neon lights plopped smack dab in the middle of office buildings. Toons gathered out in seats outside, drinking and eating on the sidewalk under cozy umbrellas. Every style you could think of hanging out, OVA protagonists having lunch with furries and martians. How’d he never notice the place?

He never

When did cartoons come alive, exactly? Liam was trying to think about it. He didn’t remember talking animals, cars with faces, or babies delivered by herrons when he was a kid. Sort of like a snap, that was just a thing that happened at some point. While some people were worried and questioned it, Liam was happy. Honestly? He quite liked toons.

As in. He LIKED toons. A lot.

AntFarm's Blog - Anxiety sucks, man. Posted 6 months ago

I'm mostly writing for myself and to see if I get someone interested enough in comissioning me, but... I can't deny that it sucks not seeing "number go up". Whenever a story gets a decent amount of views but few to no favorites, I can't help but wonder if the issue is my writing being bland and boring, or just general public "read something, enjoy it, click off, never convey that to the artist." Or maybe it's just a written media issue? I'm sure it's nowhere as bad as the apocalyptic scenario of people laughing / dumping on your writing as my anxiety makes it out to be but it still feels terrible. Wish there was a way to turn the "but- but did it get likes/comments?!" side of my brain for a while.
