A Human Matriarch's Royal Meal By Neoneo -- Report

"At the dawn of the 5th era, the Empire of Re-Ling seemed to have been restored to its full glory. Its borders spanned from the Shurxin Sea to the Phurong Mountains, and many periphery realms such as Ulma and Ze-Linto had been brought into their sphere of influence. But not all was well beneath the surface - ambitious functionaries, restless vassals and dark cults were waiting for their chance to strike.

One of the first cracks to show was with the succession of Hayma Emil to the Ulman throne in 76. The young princess reneged the oaths of subservience to Re-Ling, citing unlawfulness and the corruption of Re-Lingi ministries who were extracting tribute from the region.

The imperial response was swift: army after army descended upon Ulma, with the goal of sacking its capital Catalay, slaying Hayma and installing a new client ruler. However, none of these armies ever reached their destination - it was as if they had vanished along the journey across the Chaya mountains, and the agents sent to investigate turned up nothing. Exasperated, Emperor Woli requested the help of Lady Liu, head of the powerful Lei clan which commanded a vast trade empire across southern Re-Ling and beyond.

Lady Liu was happy to oblige. Paying visit to Catalay under the pretense of sympathizing with the Ulman rebellion - after all, the Lei clan descended from the Warrior-Empress Khirishan and was respected in the south - Lei Liu was granted an audience with "Queen" Hayma and, once they were in private, devoured her. She could have scarfed her down in front of her guards the moment she walked in, but she found Hayma a morsel worth savouring. That didn't stop her from treating herself to many, many more afterwards, devouring Catalay's defenders and its population as a warning for anyone who ever thought to rebel again.
"

-Lady Erina Thunderstrike, Varhalian Scholar

Here, we see the Matriarch of the Lei clan, Lei Liu, savouring her prize - the royal upstart, Hayma Emil. The purple-haired elf's rebellion came to an end, inside the digestive cauldron of the smug noblewoman.

And she wouldn't be the only queen claimed by that stomach...

Showing up to Ulma and devouring the monarch, a time-honoured tradition which all the cool kids have been doing. This could've been averted if Hayma had read her ancestor's story.

Nobody could have prepared Catalay for a hunger which wasn't seen since the Cult of Khualkaur, though.

hehe, I like her one of my favourites but not at the top. though I am morbidly curious but were there any instances where Lei Liu actually gave a more merciful fate to a person?

Well, she does have a softer side (and not just her assets). Liu does have an estate full of staff and servants, most of whom remain uneaten so long as they perform their duties. Her head maid in particular, a lamia named Zheng, is a childhood friend of hers - though she has been known to eat her on occasion, and either let her out or reform her afterwards.

Lei Liu will also show her affection in an... unorthodox way. If someone strikes her fancy, she'll still eat them, but will then reform or release them later. It's her way of affectionately "claiming" someone.
