Yeah! I liked the way some author did it too where they were only ressable if the pred themselves didn't get eaten. And it was expensive with people bankrupting themselves to being gutsluts
But this is also great. It's not necessarily forever but also it totally could be.
Love skirting that fatal line.

I had the same idea for how "sentient fat" would work. It's also a neat way to pseudo-scientifically explain how the pred can take on some characteristics of their prey, since they now have access to the prey's DNA to replicate the desired features.
Love to see other people also liking that concept. This turned out great, and I really like how you visualized it too.

Taking on traits of the prey or mixing up DNA somehow does also sound like a fun a idea to play around with.

So, let me see if I’ve got this right:
The prey is truly dead and gone, but the fat created from her contains copies of her memories and DNA, so a clone of her could potentially be generated and regurgitated, but only so long as at least one of those fat cells is still intact and useable.
