Now, granted, snakes won't (or can't) ingest humans, unless the snake is of an unfathomable size. Something about human shoulders, or something. But, since when has that mattered to me?

Actually... it's only a matter of position for a snake to swallow a grown human whole. While it's true a snake's jaws are narrow and unable to expand horizontally, they can expand huge in the vertical axis... just need to turn the human sideways. (GULP)

Indeed. Children and women are often taken in India, and considering that anacondas of mature (and by that I mean very large) sizes can take horses, a grown man isn't out of the question.
