When you're a parent, a lot naturally falls onto your plate. Not only must you work a 9-5 to put food on the table, but a firm, yet gentle hand is required when rearing children. Young adults deserve kindness, love, and patience, but also discipline. A strict upbringing can mold children into well-mannered, functional adults in society, so long as proper rewards, affection, and leniency is wisely given.
That's very much the philosophy Brienda follows as a mother. Her four children— Marcello, Beatrix, Jozef, and Ramona— are the light of her life. Brienda would do anything to make them happy. Part of that is fostering an abiding curiosity in them. Not only do they earn good grades in school, but into their adult lives, they'll constantly desire to learn, grow, and improve. Aside from love, isn't that the greatest gift of all? A future?
So, if Marcello or Beatrix wants to go to the movies, Brienda typically says 'yes.' They should be exposed to culture, entertainment, and other values. Their father, Hugo, needs to give approval too, because parenthood is often a team effort, but Brienda is usually the one making decisions around here. And if their grades are poor or they've acted naughty lately, Brienda will still let her kids see a movie...
... but only if she tags along. Brienda will pick the movie, sit between her kids and any potential date, and even hog the popcorn. Let that be a lesson: if you want to enjoy your youth to the fullest, you must strive to be better. Otherwise, what separates us from the animals... or abominations?

It’s a semi-open marriage, given the circumstances. Whenever you’re neck-deep in the occult, an open mind is essential. For example, Hugo can date any siren, Gorgon, fish woman, sphinx, he chooses; you know, hybrid types. Man has his preferences and Brienda respects that. Whereas Brienda will date anyone who proves to be a worthy follower.
The important thing is communication. Both partners need the others’ approval first before any extra-martial romance can begin. A one-night stand with a total stranger is still cheating in their eyes. If Hugo or Brienda is uncomfortable with their partner dating someone, it’s off the table.

That last part... would be off the table, sadly ^_^" Hugo & Brienda may down for dating other people, but outright polyamory is a no-go. Like, Brienda loves Hugo, but she doesn't wanna date Hugo's girlfriends, and Hugo doesn't wanna date Brienda's boyfriends/girlfriends. The relationship web gets too complicated and they wanna keep things somewhat simple.
