It's difficult to measure how much time I spent watching and enjoying Fairy Tail compared to how much I spent hyper-fixating on female characters who never appeared again after their arc was over (like Flare...). But damn, if only Erza's reunion with her mom had gone as well as this!

I can see that. Lot's of wasted potential. I would argue if Irene really wanted to kill Erza. I think she would rather eat all the fairies and make lonely Erza watch entire process. What's the fun in destruction, if there is no one to care for it.
