Of course, I ended up tiny for a bit during October. Just my luck. But why did I have to run into a dragoness who would have been near my height if I were normal, but at my current size, she was absolutely terrifying. Those glowing orange and yellow eyes, with a yellow mouth to match, and her scales and hair were as dark as the autumn night. I didn’t have many places to hide in an open cemetery.

Wait, how did I even end up in a cemetery? I couldn’t figure that out, but I had no time to dwell on it. I needed a hiding place. I spotted a carved pumpkin with a light inside. It seemed perfect—big enough to hide me, as long as I didn’t get burnt. But something was off... there was no candle in here. Just a strange glow. How was that even possible?

Suddenly, I heard her footsteps growing closer. My heart raced as I froze, trying not to make a sound. Without warning, her plump rump settled right on top of the pumpkin. I winced at the loud crack that followed. Peeking through the carved openings, I saw her glance around, muttering, "I thought I heard someone over here."

She had to know I was nearby, but I was too scared to move. That’s when I noticed something truly bizarre—the jack-o-lantern I was hiding in actually glanced up at her butt. And... it blushed? Seriously? Of course, I had to end up in a magical pumpkin that was enamored with the weight on top of it. My luck couldn’t get any worse tonight. Now, how was I supposed to escape without her crushing both the pumpkin and me? I couldn’t run without her noticing, but staying put was an equally bad option.

What a dreadful situation.
