A Foolish Taunt (Day 18) By CaptainMoke -- Report

Voretober Day 18: Fool

”Hah! You really got yourself hypnotized like that~? I thought your species were all about mental focus and perfection!”

Litwick snickered, his flame brightening in flashes with every ghostly exhale. He was floating in the air, visible eye creased with mirth as he looked down towards a frowning Mienfoo.

The ferret-y fighting-type looked up unamused. He really wasn’t in the best mood, especially after having to repay all the debt he had accumulated during his short stint as an outlaw. The haunted light wasn’t helping either.

“Yeah, laugh it up. It was a sneaky trick! I would have won easily in a fair fight.”

The ghost just floated closer with a grin. Eye twinkling as if this was just what he had been waiting for.

“Really? Against a ghost~? You couldn’t have even touched Misdreavus! Or did you forget your basic punches and kicks don’t work on us~?”

Mienfoo just stared up at the minuscule poltergeist with a blank annoyance.

“I know full well about ghost types. It wouldn’t have mattered.”

“Oh yeah~? Heehehe~ I bet even I could take you down without a- Bugwhaa!”

Mienfoo didn’t even let them finish the thought, finally having enough as his paw shined a darker purple. It was simple to hit the ghost right in the face with an open palm strike. Knock Off wasn’t the most damaging move normally, but he was plenty strong enough to use the super effective dark type move to send Litwick sprawling onto the ground with a single hit.

The candle pokemon landed with a thud, only a weak confused groan escaping the fainted specter. Mienfoo just stepped forward and stooped down to scoop the melty ‘challenger’ up with a single paw.

“Yeah. Mmhmm.”

He looked down at the handful of unconscious wax, squinting for a moment. With a shrug he casually opened his mouth wide and pressed his snack into the hot chamber with a wet squelch.

The flavor wasn’t what he expected. Almost tingly with a bit of spice, mixed with the strange smoothness of the melted texture. Litwick was more than a single mouthful, so the ferret had to take a few small gulps to get more inside his maw.

Mienfoo’s throat clenched down, dragging in the ghost’s malleable upper half as the lower dragged over the roving tongue. It was almost like gum once he got a bit into working the treat over, but he wasn’t really in the mood to savor for much longer with his throat full.

With a tilt of his head, the fighting-type took a powerful ‘GUULLP!’ and felt his neck swell with the flaming food. In moments his tongue was pressing the last of the annoyance to the back of his throat and with a squelch they were gone down to his collar bone and disappearing into his torso.

A loud gasp escaped the predator, a paw coming up to rub at the barely noticeable bulge hidden in his baggy middle. He hadn’t realized how much he needed to take a breath, but now he was already recovering. Mienfoo prodded at where he could feel his gut beginning to rumble to take care of the offering, humming casually.

“You really should have known better. I’d say it’s a learning experience, but I don’t think that matters now~”

It was a bit of a learned skill to transfer elements from attacks into a more generalized form, but not really difficult once you knew how. He just took the building dark energy from his Knock Off attack and siphoned it towards his already working stomach. No phasing out of him for this ghost! Not useful for combat, but it definitely had advantages in a time like this.

With his paws raised above his head in a deep stretch, the sated mienfoo let out a deep yawn. Settling back down, he began his casual walk back towards his current training grounds. The day hadn’t been all that bad really~

”Uurrrp~”

With a casual belch, ghostly flames lit the darkening area, a last signal from his snack. And without a second thought on the ghost, the fighter went back to his usual routine.

There are ways to get around type match-ups! Unfortunately this ghost snack isn’t going to learn from this mistake!
