Perma means the character will never be seen again, and this is their canonical death. You don't own these characters, by definition they cannot be perma-vored.
You can only perma characters you own

? This piece is not tagged as perma.

I wouldn't bother interacting with them they seem to only say the same thing in every message, they seem so locked it to seeing the work perma they don't think to pay attention to the non before it

Sorry might have been to harsh, they've mentioned it alot recently but its not the only thing they say so they might realise their mistake <3

I'm finding that permavore is sometimes a weird topic on Aryion? I had somepony once tell me that a character I made and owned being permanently killed off and never appearing in another story couldn't be perma because I hadn't set them to be my profile image, and "perma" was only applicable to profile role-play and should never be used in a non-RP situation.

In truth the tags are used ambiguously, and there doesn't seem to be agreement even from the critters policing usage on how the policing should work.

It's just odd that it seems to get more policing than other ambiguous tags that I use like "feral", "rape/noncon", even "non-fatal". *fox shrug*

It's tagged "non-perma" which is an impossible tag, since it can't ever be perma.

So in the interest of not discouraging critters to give me tag feedback (which I do want to encourage), I took a quick look:

I think I am the only critter on this entire website that uses the non-perma tag. So this affects nopony's search, nopony's blocklists, it is not as far as I can tell making anypony's life more difficult in any way at all.

I've flipped views on multiple tags before - part of the reason I use non-perma is because floofs asked me not to use "endo" to describe even sentient digestion or transformation without long-term consequences, and even though I'm not sure I agree with such a narrow definition of endo, I thought it was a really reasonable request and I wanted to help those floofs have an easier time searching and blocking pieces and carving out a space where they could feel safe. And in that scenario not only did I change my usage, I went through my gallery and updated older pieces as well.

So if there's a reason, I'm willing to change my tagging habits. But given that my usage of "non-perma" here is affecting nopony at all, and is consistent with usage of the word as I've seen it in multiple contexts off-site, and is technically accurate even by your definition (there is no OC here getting canonically killed off forever, the piece is - by every definition the term - not perma)..

I'll be honest, I don't really understand the problem. Any time you want me to change tags, the important piece of information you need to lead with is who - IRL - the tag is affecting. That's what I care about, and I'll be much more receptive to any requests that have that information included.
