If you don't mind me asking, could you please elaborate on how reformation works in your world? I always love hearing authors talk about their worldbuilding. :D

It’s genetic. Roughly 5% of prey can reform. It’s a bit like regeneration in doctor who, except the soul escapes the captors belly and creates a new body for them in a safe place like a bed. Some preds can also permanently digest reformers if they really try.
