Neil and Wendy going into the woods gobbling up small creatures as a couple, like they often do. :3
The creature in question is a vulmer! Vulmers are small shallow-burrowing foxlike and badgerlike primary herbivores from Krathal, their main diet consists of tree roots and berries with the occasional supplement of insects. Vulmers individually are weak and fleeting, to make up for this they live in large colonies and give birth to large litters. Vulmers have several main natural predators, arpines included, and because of this they often act aggressive when approached or touched.
While the arpines understand and value the significance of the vulmers to the stability and balance of Krathal's ecosystems (such as their role as natural foresters) it is also a widely acknowledged reality that unchecked populations of vulmers lead to deforestation and other issues. Arpine communities have regular hunting times on vulmers while in some areas (especially those where none of their other predators exist) they are considered free game and are one of the more common small snacks for arpines.
Neil and Wendy here are just having a nice dinner date in the woods (and doing their part for the balance of Krathal) gobbling down some tasty and juicy vulmers, and given the appearance of their bellies they've been at it for a while, so these are probably the last bites before they turn in to rest and digest their fill.
Arpines also typically do hunt nude because canonically it's often considerably more messy than the soft vore depicted here. And I thought for a while about what they'd do with their amulets while hunting, which bear religious and personal significance to them, and the solution I came up with is that they wrap it around and secure it to their arm when they hunt to stop it from flapping around and getting caught.
Well that was an unexpected bit of a lore drop.
Nee! :3
