"No sense whining, Bryce, it's only fair; you lost, and what self-respecting trainer would refuse to do what his pokémon have already done? Now be a good boy, and wiggle those hips a little on the way in~"
When you make ill-advised bets on the results of a battle, don't complain when the cards don't fall your way, and you have to pay up. At least Bryce and his team get to gurgle in someone comparatively roomy; imagine if his opponent's hungriest pokémon had been a Totodile!
Side note, if a 'mon full of prey gets returned, do the prey keep digesting while they're all in the pokéball, or do they get stuck in stasis until the predator is let out of their ball again?

Interesting question, I think it could be hot either way! But the idea of prey being "paused" in an almost half digested state but still possessing a kind of awareness of where they are and what's happening to them is.
I can only imagine the kind of anxiety and fear of knowing your life is being held onto by a razor thin margin and that the time your predator is released from their captivity is like a ticking clock that's slowly winding down to the moment you finally succumb to their body <3
