The narrative is set in the far far future. Jacky's passed away of shear old age and Gypsi is still trying to move on with her life after prolonging his for as long as possible. Like an owner with an elderly pet gradually realizing all their efforts to keep their beloved pets alive and with them is only prolonging their pain and suffering.
