In late October/early November of 2024, I purchased Lily Burgermeister from  agentv. While I'm not stranger to adoptables, something about her design caught my attention in particular. Perhaps it's her sullen, yet hardworking disposition, the flash of ginger hair, or the novelty of Primal's as a concept, but Lily struck a chord with me. A sorta je ne sais quoi that felt inescapable.

More importantly, she's rich with potential.

That brings us here. While the setting of "Alien Girls Galore!" is still a work-in-progress, Lily has been added to the cast. She'll serve as a secondary character who will make infrequent appearances. Through Lily, I hope to enrich the setting by showing how alien technology affects human society, as well as give an outside perspective from Cercux, Apex, and the remaining cast's point-of-view. With time and luck, this could kickstart further development for "Alien Girls Galore" and shape it into a more well-rounded setting, like what I' have with "Wyrd Times."

Take the Food-A-Tron 9000, or FTA, for example. For over a century, aliens have been visiting Earth. Whether by accident, illicit trade, or theft, wonderous technology beyond our meager understanding has trickled from these spacefaring voyagers into the hands of governments, criminal enterprises, and other groups around the world. One such device was the ⎎⍀⍜⋔ ⎅⟒⏃⏁⊑, better translated as the Vita ex Machina. Originally used to treat injuries, even of the fatal persuasion, scientists were able to reverse engineer the Vita ex Machina into a variety of devices that, while largely limited to top-secret laboratories, have vastly improved the lives of humanity. Who doesn't love some miraculous sci-fi medical care, after all?

After some backdoor dealings, Big Mouth Eats, the company that owns Primal's, was able to get a hold of a Vita ex Machina. After much trial and error, they developed the Food-A-Tron 9000 and immediately put it to market. Any FTA can turn meat and other organic, but dead material, back into a facsimile of life. This living food was then sold to predators, who wanted to hunt their meals without the messy complications and guilt of eating human prey. While there still exists kinks in the system (on a fundamental level, neither Primal's nor humanity fully understands this alien technology), it led to a reduction of predator-related deaths and an expansion of the human culinary diet.

Oh, and while the living food isn't self-aware, it is driven by a compulsion to eat and be eaten. Such a conflict of desires twists the living food into mad, dribbling monsters almost instantly upon their creation, so its best they be devoured before any accidents happen, eh? Especially since living food can instantly digest other living food, able to mutate and grow at an exponential rate.

Just, uh, don't tell Primal's about the other functions of the Vita ex Machina. If they knew the true potential of this device and Food-A-Tron 9000, the next incident wouldn't stop at another Rathulhu...
