Being a Sith in training, before she went to lure Luke Skywalker into becoming a Sith as requested by the Emperor, Mara Jade wanted to prepare herself on the potential case that the Skywalker caught on to her ruse and prepare a special technique that would hypnotize anyone she uses it on.

To test it out, she had gone out to test it on an unlucky civilian and prepare herself for what was basically her biggest mission ever. However…plans never went as she would've wished for.

Not realizing the danger she was in, when Mara Jade went to test out her Hypnotic Force technique, a bounty hunter nearby who recognized her used a special type of equipment to block the Force Ability and indirectly sent it right back to the Sith as her eyes, mind and body went completely still, the life blank on her expression as her ability did indeed work as she wished, but not in the way she hoped for.

With the woman completely hypnotized, the bounty hunter brought her back to her client who was none other than Jabba The Hutt as he was in need of a special meal to give to his Rancor within his pit as a reward for being such a good boy. Thus, the hypnotized Mara Jade now found herself in the depths of the Rancor's home as its giant claw held her within its grasp and its giant maw ready to swallow her whole with ease.
