Basically, this scenario is Carla somehow getting a ""date"" with Anya, the latter a bit perplexed on why the college's janitor would "ask her out" but had nothing to do this friday's night. Got heavenly surprised with Carla knowledge on history. That sweethens our favorite awful teacher a bit. Then after of a couple of alcoholic beverages, Carla slowly sweet talk Anya for a good time, in exchange to be nicer to her students, one in particular.
"No promises." - Anya Lynch.
You can figure how it went, and imagine what happens to Ellie afterwards. Feels like since Ms. Lynch had a good night, she is feeling merciful for the next week or so, better for our tragic Ellie to make the best out of it. Guess you could say, Carla took one for the team.
