A Fuzzy Lament

At my computer,
here I stay.
Typing my words,
day after day.

Who am I really?
Nobody knows.
Just another guy,
escaping his woes.

I think and I think,
and to some avail,
my world is less real,
and I grow a tail.

I open a program;
what do I see?
Many furred friends there.
Just waiting for me.

I close my eyes,
being happy at last.
Most of my day,
now in my past.

As I open my eyes,
I look about.
Directly in front,
there's a grinning snout.

Friends of all sizes,
colors and hues.
They're all enough,
to alleviate my blues.

I step forward,
smiling again.
I haven't been this glad
since I don't know when.

I move from my desk,
feeling lick after pat.
To hell with the real world,
online I'm one happy cat.

That was a pretty good poem, and quite true! There's a little of all of us represented by that poem. ^^
