I know the focus of your story is being digested. You haven't really thought out what human stomach acid is like, have you? It figures. No, just that people here assume things that aren't true and especially without any proof. Simply not that stomach acid's acidity is no different than stomach acid and before you start talking about HCl, do know that it isn't that strong in low levels of concentration and it is not a super acid or an acid with incredible corrosive capabilities. That would be Sulfuric Acid. I just find it strange how people assume that Hydrochloric Acid, which is a strong acid is as strong or stronger than Sulfuric Acid. The level of corrosive-ness in acid is simply determined by it being a strong or weak acid, how many protons does it donate when dissolving into an aqueous mixture and how much of it is concentrated by molar volume.
I don't want to crush your dreams or anything, but you must know that human stomach acid is extremely weak. It is clearly detailed by the lack of digestion that takes place and how much one has to eat to actual absorb nutrients.
So I would have done this story differently if I were you.
