Another excellent installment. Not really sure what I can say that I haven't already said before to you, beyond the fact that it's a clever premise, and you actually got me a bit choked up there...
Isn't it amazing how even the oldest story can still produce the same feelings as it did when it was new? (Incidentally, if you do happen to be reading this in the distant future, this story is currently 6 years old :) Also, If anyone does read this, I'd be interested to see just how many people bother to read stories this old, so I'd appreciate it if you'd reply to this? Please?
I'm reading them now (because I've only been on the site a few months.) TW's stories are some of the best on the site though. I'm glad he's picked back up writing this year, and hope to see more new ones. Still reading through the rather large collection of old ones though.

By the way, just out of curiosity, is there such a thing as a "catboy" in this universe, and, if so, will we ever meet one? Perhaps as the result of some semi-successful back-alley experiment?
Yes, I enjoyed this series so much that I decided to skip the crossover episode until I got to it in the outfoxed storyline, too. Guess what I'm reaing now? :)
You weren't lying when you said it was going to get weirder. This was quite the interesting installment, though I started catching on to what was happening somewhere around the economic recession (along the logic of "why would there be a recession in a place where you can materialize your thoughts and wishes?").
That's exactly why I included those details. They were intended to be the sort of "dream logic" that makes sense to the dreamer but doesn't stand up to actual examination.
I figured it was necessary to keep "…but how are they going to just jump 30 years in the future and get rid of such promising characters?" from affecting people's suspension of belief partway through the story.
On a side note, I've been busy trying to visualize Maya eating herself, which comes considerably easier to people who can visualize 4th dimensional objects (I can, though not as easily ad my friend, who can visualize objects up to the 11th). I've come up with a visualization not too far removed from that of a Klein bottle.
