Kura's Journey 2 - The Lion

A slight wind blew through the hot savannah, but it didn't last long. Although, when it did blow, it managed to
kick up a small amount of sand.
 
 Kura the mouse didn't like this. She was a mouse, and a very small one. Therefore, the sand bothered her
more than anyone in the savannha when it blew. When it stopped, she breathed a sigh of relief and continued her
small journey.
 
 Kura was running home from the watering hole, a place she often went to to relax. She never took it for
granted, however, because just a few weeks ago she had to endure going through an Elephant's harsh digestive
tract just to get the rights to use the watering hole. When she tried to drink for the first time, the cruel
elephant picked her up and gulped her down whole. She had rode through it's churning guts for hours, until she
found herself outside in a hot lump of poop.
 
 Since then, Kura had always been wary of elephants, although she hadn't been eaten since then. However,
it wasn't as if other animals had not tried. Several times she had narrowly avoided the sharp talons of an eagle,
or the hungry maw of a snake or tiger. She wondered how she could even be spotted by any hungry predators, after
all, she was so small... only 4 centimeters tall and 15 from head to the tip of her tail. She would barely fill
an Eagle's beak.
 
 Today was like any other day in the Savannah, with the exception of a Lion. Kura has been running across
the sand, when the wind blew slightly. Temporarily blinded, Kura ran off in a random direction until the wind
had ceased. Although it wasn't very long, it was enough to displace Kura into unfriendly territory.
 
 Kura stopped to examine her surroundings. She seemed to be in a different area, one that stood out in
all of the places she was to avoid. This was because-
 
 "Lions!" Kura said. "I shouldn't be here..." but as she said it, she looked up to see a Lion a short
away, it's eyes locked on her. Kura froze, but regained herself when she saw the Lion lick it's lips.
 
 Kura had dodged predators in the Savannah before, and so she had to do again. Without another thought,
Kura took off in the opposite direction. She turned to see the Lion running after her as well, so she kept running.
 
 Up ahead, she saw a number of rocks. Hoping the Lion wouldn't see her, Kura dashed behind them, and hid
in the shadows. Although, as she did so, she remembered why the rocks also stood out as a place to avoid.
 
 Kura heard a loud hissing sound, and looked up to see a huge rattlesnake slithering toward her.
<No, another one?> Kura thought. She turned around and ran, just as the wind picked up again. She closed her eyes
and ran blindly, hoping to lose the Lion and the snake. Finally, the wind stopped, and the sand settled. Kura
stopped, because she had run into something.
 
 After falling back, Kura looked up to see she had run straight into the Lion's leg. It looked at her, and
laughed loudly. "Well, that was quite an attempt you put on there, mouse. But you should know better than to
try and run away from a Lion!"
 
 Kura began, "Come on, let me go..."
 
 But the Lion just replied "You know I can't do that. I spent all of this energy chasing you, and now I
need compensation for it. A small snack should do the trick." The Lion licked his chops a few times, and Kura
looked down at his furry belly to hear a loud rumble, a signal of the Lion's hunger.
 
 Kura looked up again, but suddenly the Lion held her down with both paws. It bent down low, so it's head
was just over her. The Lion opened his maw slowly, moving his tongue out as his hot breath washed over Kura.
Kura flinched as the Lion began to lick her over, dragging his rough tongue across her body and slathering her
with saliva. Then, he picked her up by her tail with a single paw, and held her over his mouth.
 
 "Any last words?" The Lion asked it's meal.
 
 "Just get it over with..." Kura muttered. And with that, the Lion dropped her.
 
 Kura dropped down into the Lion's mouth, with snapped shut. His tongue moved around her some more,
coating Kura with more saliva. Kura looked down to his throat, and waited to be pushed in. Finally, the Lion's
mouth moved her, and his throat opened up as Kura was forced in. The Lion tilted his head back slightly as he
let out a loud, wet gulp, as he swallowed the tiny mouse whole.

 The bottom of the Lion's throat opened up as Kura slid out, landing inside the Lion's huge gut with a
splash. She surfaced immedeatley, to find herself swimming in a stomach full of acid.
 
 <This is great...> Kura thought. <I tried to get home, and now I get to be Dinner for a Lion.> Kura
looked around. The Lion's belly was a light pink color, with a slimy coating of mucus. The smell was awful, but
Kura managed to ignore it. Then, Kura realized she was swimming in a steaming pot of stomach acid. Although it
was high in temperature, it didn't seem to burn Kura at all. <This is weird, why aren't I digesting...?>
 
 After some thought, Kura had concluded that it must have been her exposure to weaker stomach acids before,
when she passed through that elephant, that made gave her some sort of immunity to a predator's digestion. "This
is great!" Kura said aloud. "Now I don't have to worry about being digested!" However, Kura soon realized that
even though digestion was not a factor, spending the day in a predator's body was not exactly fun. She had to
deal with swimming in a digested pulp, and then a slimy waste. She also had to deal with being tossed around and
overally abused by a churning belly. And, if that wasn't enough, the little air trapped inside a body was so
horribly rancid that it was hardly breathable. And, the only thing she had to look forward to was falling into
a pile of waste at the end, which she certainly did not.
 
 Unfortunatley for Kura, all she COULD do was wait inside the Lion's belly until it decided to move her
along, and only then could she progress through it's digestive tract.

 Kura had been sitting inside the Lion's stomach as it tossed her around in a futile digestion attempt
for hours. Finally, however, she saw the acid content begin to shift. The Lion's intestines were opening up, and
with a sickening gurgle, it's stomach contents were being sucked inside.
 
 Kura flinched, as the powerful stomach squeezed and forced her in. She was sucked into the Lion's tight
duodenum, and forced through with a slimy mixture of mucus and acids. Finally, she emerged into the Lion's
intestines. Kura looked ahead, to see a very tight tube stretch out in front of her, and curve off sharply.
<Okay,> Kura thought. <I'm in the Lion's bowels now. All I have to do is wait for it to push me out.>
 
 But, that was easier thought than done, since the Lion's bowels were very long, and Kura still had alot
of waiting to do before they could squeeze her out. So, she sat in silence as the tubes slowly moved her through.

 Hours passed by as Kura waited in the hot intestines. The only sound was the deafening noise of the lion's
body, and there was no way to move. Kura was moved through the long coil of bowels by the lion, and she wanted
out. But, she was at the mercy of the Lion's body, and couldn't exactly speak up.
 
 Finally, after waiting for so long, the intestines shifted and forced her into a wider tube. <Finally...>
Kura thought. <I made it to the large intestine.> Kura noticed at once that although the tube was wider and she
could wiggle slightly, the stench was also alot worse. Which, to Kura, meant she was nearing the end of the lion's
body.
 
 She waited inside the Lion's colon as it moved her through, until she finally saw a small opening. She
poked her head through, and found a small chamber stretch out below her, halfway filled up with a horribly
smelling brown paste. Unfortunatley, since she couldn't move, the Lion's intestines squeezed and dumped her in.

 Outside, the Lion stopped walking. It was clear to it now that there was no way out of this pit, and he
was stuck here. After he had eaten that mouse, he was captured by some evil humans, and soon he was thrown into
this prison, in some sort of zoo.
 
 At first, the lion didn't approve. But, he found that, even though his expanse to roam in was very
limited, he didn't have to work for food, since the workers would occaisonally feed him. Which they did a few
minutes ago.
 
 But now, however, the lion felt a pressure building up inside him. He had a certain digested mouse to
empty out, along with some other previous meals. He found a good spot, and crouched over, at once relieving
himself of all of his liquid waste.
 
 When he finished emptying his bladder, the lion continued with his rectum. He relaxed as a few clumps
of brown waste dropped out of him, and landed below. The lion grunted as he forced out a particularly solid
object, but finished by emptying the rest of his waste out on top and walking away.
 
 <Finally...> Kura thought. <I may be lion poop now, but atleast I'm finally out of his disgusting
digestive system.> Kura climbed out of the hot lump of waste, and walked around for a bit.
 
 Suddenly, Kura realized that she was no longer in the desert, but in some kind of open pit with a number
of lions and lionesses. <I've heard about these places, where animals are held captive by humans. I must be at a
zoo!>
 
 Kura walked around wearily. A zoo? This couldn't be happening. But, after some thought, Kura realized
<Hey, I'm not a lion. I could easily get out of this pit. But why should I even leave the zoo? This could be a
great place to live, since I wouldn't have to worry about hungry predators.> Kura climbed up a series of fake
rock walls, and slipped through a metal railing at the top to find herself on a tarmac pathway. After looking
around, Kura set off to go exploring her new home.
 
 And from that day, Kura's life was not the same.
