One of Gelus's characters; Lynette. You can find him here: http://aryion.com/g3/user/Gelus
So, thanks to him for lettin' me butcher his character with my first attempt at smooth line art. ... BTW that thing around her waist was supposed to be a toolbelt. I know you can't tell, 'cause neither can I. >//>;;

Hmm... What program are you using?

I'm usin' Photoshop CS3. This is the first time I've sat down and learned the basics of the pen tool though. > >;; Before I've only used brushes.

I thought so. The pen tool in PS isn't as good as some other programs and can have trouble handling smooth curves, something I'm noticing a lot of in this pic. My advice is to take it slow and hammer out imperfections as you work so they don't pile up by the end of the project. Still, it's looking good! Keep on practicing. :)

If there is a zoom tool, max it out and take each section slowly. It help me get some good lineart, but my anatomy craps it up anyways >.<
Still, it helps with lineart alot.

Oh, and the tool belt was clear for me, but I couldn't help looking upwards from that point :3

If you can get a hold of illustrator I'd recommend going over your line work in that program. Much nicer to work with.

Thanks for the advice! I'll make sure to try it out, meow. ^ ^

I see the toolbelt just fine yer just too distracted by her outfit

Her pose does look a little stiff, a bit like a mannequinn. But considering you're using new tools, it is a very good first work. Lynette is quite an alluring jackal which I give two thumbs up. :)

Actually the polygons work well. If you had gone with squares it would look bland. But I only see penta-, hex-, and octagons, plus one decagon. Where are the heptagons?
Posted by Lucky 15 years ago Report
How many sides does a heptagon have? o o;
Posted by Leshana 15 years ago Report
A heptagon (also called septagon) has 7 sides.

Oh. OH!
How could I forget the number 7!? T_T
