I can has a link!

The version of this song I was listening to was very different; More ballroom, less folk, but had roughly the same melody. Somehow the sound makes me think of a mundane situation where a soldier is patrolling a familier area and is allowing their mind to wander, as they feel there are no surprises the terrain holds for them.

Ooh, Russian music... XD; Pity I don't understand a word (and I'll have to listen to it properly when I get home since this net café's so loud what with the music and all >__> )
The image looked like something else entirely on a mobile phone thumbnail, what with weird textures and patterns... XP

He looks so lonely. ;___;

Ah yes, I'm in the same boat with all of my international music too- I only know English ^0^ As for the look yes, that's very much what I go for when I draw him. Also, I can't believe I actually forgot his riflog's eyes were red too >.>; You gotta admit though, something seems very fitting about said weapon/companion having dull blue-grey eyes ^u^<3

I know a bit of German >__> though I mostly prefer instrumental music anyway. (or, electronic music most of the time but I'm not picky)

Oh, it doesn't look that bad. XD Hmm... I made her eyes red too just for the sake of consistency. >__> and red is pretty close to brown anyway lol...

Hmm, a good point. Also, I totally feel you on instrumental music for the most part- The main exception for me is vocal harmony techniques, like in barbershop quartets and choruses.

Hmm, oh yes. XD Choruses are awesome...
I've also heard pretty great a cappella covers of songs... XD
I definitely respect people who can use their voice. X3

Hecksz yeah, what is it that these solo singers of today don't understand? You'd think they would learn from the vocal harmonists but noooo -shakes fist-

not the faintest idea. :I I tend to be picky about that since if the vocalist's voice doesn't sound interesting to me, it puts me off. 9__6 It might even become irritating when I listen to the music even if the music sounds nice but I don't like the singer's voice at all.

I know exactly what you mean! At first you can just sorta say "Eh, maybe the music will balance them out" but as their album goes on you just keep finding that they clash with the rest of the sound so it's kinda like what's the point of trying so hard for only a little enjoyment?

Yep. 9__6
Oh boy, that reminds me of a band that I used to like, the female vocalist who had a very opera-esque voice but she got booted (lol dramas) and replaced with new vocalist whose voice sounds like that of a generic pop singer... Eh, I haven't liked the band in years but somehow the original vocalist's voice just gave it its own atmosphere. However, I'm not sure if I have any favourite bands with which it'd go the other way around...

Ah, fascinating stuff- Seems much like the lead singer is the dealbreaker, so to speak. Kind of makes me wonder what the effect is when one of the backups is exchanged...
