I like this a lot. I have to say I'm *extremely* pleased that you did not take the more popular route and have him suddenly do a 180 on his moral stance. I'm left with a taste of tragedy, but also a bittersweet triumph...he "won", and did not reinforce her beliefs or behavior, while she punished herself for them. I could actually imagine a true rehabilitation developing over time with this woman, given these events, and what's more, I actually care what happens in her future, a first for me! Great job. :D
Strange, this one alone has twice as many views as the first one, and the highest number of views of any of my stories to date. A ratio of 1/856 (currently) when it comes to comments, so a big thanks to Blergle from keeping it from 0/856. I'm not really sure who I'm writing this for haha. Mostly just typing out loud I think.
I agree with Blergle.
It was inspiring to see him stand up for what he knew was right and wrong, even if it cost him his life.
And I love the self-justifying she tries to do in order to get away from the guilt.
