In this picture, Georgette was outside pitching hay when her giant companion, Rosalind, came trotting up. The centauress playfully picked up her small friend in order to receive some "hand feeding." Georgette is accustomed to such behavior out of the centauress, playing along until the she has had her fill (or until she eats all the hay).
Rosalind and Georgette are not native to Felarya. Rosalind was neither a centauress, nor giant sized - she was Georgette's horse. Their homeland was torn apart by a terrible war waged by invaders from another world. The conflict resulted in the release of massive, destructive magics across the land. Georgette's small farm was located on the far outskirts of a minor city. A middle-aged widower, she lived alone with her horse, cows, chickens, goats, cats, and dog. She assumed her location, and the fact that she had nothing valuable, would keep her safe from the atrocities of war, at least for a while. She was wrong.
After her house and meager food stores were seized by the lord of her territory, it became a target for enemy sorcerers. Her attempt at escape one night almost worked, but her luck ran out when she and her mount were caught in the crossfire between an enemy assault group and her lord's garrison. The unleashed magics reacted in bizarre fashion, ripping across the landscape, vaporizing her beloved farm, and randomly teleporting troops from both sides across time and space. In the worst cases, unfortunate soldiers were not only teleported, but also transformed into hideous, unthinking beasts.
Georgette and Rosalind were perhaps the luckiest of the lot. They found themselves in a strange, new world. Most of Georgette's farm had made the trip with them, meshing with the surrounding land as if it had been scooped up and dropped in place. However, that was not the only oddity. Something had happened that caused Rosalind to grow to enormous size and, most remarkably, to become partly human. Georgette found herself staring up at a gargantuan centauress whose human body could easily be mistaken as her twin. Her black hair, blue eyes, even the way she quirked her mouth was identical. Georgette was astonished when Rosalind gently picked her up and asked, in voice sounding much like her own, if she had been injured. That astonishment was soon surpassed when the two discovered they had also formed a telepathic bond. With only a little concentration, each knew the thoughts of the other.
Years have passed since that fateful day. The two companions have adapted well to Felarya. Georgette still tends her farm, much as she did back on her own world. Over the intervening years, Rosalind has helped her collect a large menagerie of duikers, rock lizards, forest beetles, and other herbivores from the surrounding area, to replace the animals that had been lost. Of the original farm animals, only four goats survived the ordeal. They are much larger than before, more intelligent, and are extremely protective of Georgette. She likes to joke to visitors that the goats eat almost everything, including unwelcome guests. As one witty guest retorted, Felaryan goats are no laughing matter.
Rosalind has established a territory around the farm that most other giant predators know to avoid. Still, a few have gained her trust, to the point that she allows them in her territory unescorted. Her main concern is, and always has been, Georgette's safety. Threatening harm to the woman is the easiest way to make an enemy of Rosalind for life.
Recently, Georgette has taken under her care a baby naga (of the non-giant variety) that somehow escaped the notice of the centauress and made it to the farm. Naming her Ethelinda, Georgette has found the precocious naga quite helpful with the daily chores. For her part, Rosalind does her best not to look hungrily at the little one. Georgette has struggled to get the two to play nicely together, but after an epic disaster when Rosalind tried to assist during Ethelinda's bath time, she decided take things much slower. Some things should not be rushed.
Rosalind, like most centaurs, is voracious. She restricts her hunts near the farm, but away from it, almost everything is fair game. Due to her size and speed, the ground she can cover when out on one of her hunts is immense. She tries to avoid eating humans, for the most part, especially those who might serve as good company for Georgette. An easy way to get out of the food category is to offer Rosalind a treat; even if it is barely a crumb due to her size, it is the thought that counts. However, for those who have ill intentions, the sight of the centauress thundering towards them is usually the last thing they see. Very few things can escape her once she has made up her mind. Georgette is pragmatic about her companion's diet. She trusts Rosalind implicitly and, whenever doubt arises, the two open their telepathic link completely. It is worth noting that so far, distance has not affected the link in the slightest.

I agree. He doesn't often do backgrounds, but the few times he's done so for me have been spectacular. And the black-haired, blue-eyed beauty in the middle isn't sore on the eyes either!
