"If you go down to the woods today... Part 1"
Description: Pre-vore scene with Rayhan, my first proper naga, and a random kid playing hide and seek... He's gonna have the best hiding place now huh? ^^;; I drew this originally way back in 2008, but over the last few days I have been working hard, colouring and linearting it. Rayhan is over 18, the random prey boy clearly is not... but he's a snack, nothing more. Both characters and art belong to me.
Contains: Naga, Pre-vore, Pre-teen, Peril, Unwilling Prey,
Materials: Pencil, Paper, Artists Black Pen, Lightbox, Photoshop 6.0, Wacom Intuos 4 Graphics Tablet

The kid looks pretty cute and yummy! Looks like the Naga is going to have a nice meal I would love to see part 2!

Part two still only exists in pencil sketch form... but I'm sure I will work on it soon

Not too bad, you got the colored outlines done nicely.
Only thing I'd pick at are the hands of the kid and the eyes of both. You said you did the scribble back in 2008... you're drawing a bit better now, so why did you keep the eyes that way? Would've been easy to fix.
Asides that, you're going the right way art-wise. Just remember that things cast shadows. Your naga and the tree look like they're not even touching the grass.

Actually, if I tilt my head I think I see what you mean about the eyes.
Dammit XD

Too big, too close together.
The space between the eyes is about enough to fit a third eye in.

Ah really? That's a good tip!

Basic rule for drawing faces.
I really recommend getting a book about drawing the human figure, as well as one about anatomy. Believe me, it really helps.
There's a lot to find on the internet as well. A really good site for poses from various angels is http://posemaniacs.com/
For drawing faces, simple do a google search, it pops up with a lots of pictures and tutorials (some better than others). They're worth checking out.
If you use Photoshop, there's an easy way to color outlines: Scan you sketch and draw your outlines in black on a new layer. When you're done, check the little square on the layer window that says "lock transparent pixels". Then you can just pick some color and paint over the outlines you drew, without having to worry about the color going anywhere but on your outlines.

Yeah I did pick up on the shadow thing after I'd done it. Thanks for the advice, and the praise as well, its much appreciated and encouraging.
I actually thought the eyes are ok. I'm happy with how they came out. But that aside, I like how I've done the colouring in this one - with the coloured outlines I mean. It takes longer and it requires more work but I do think its definately worth it for the end result.

Glad you took out the pants wetting part. ^^'''
I hope your naga can/will reform the little guy, him just being a kid and all.

well I never really developed Rayhan as a character, so who knows what he can do!
