I also enjoyed eating them with their armor on, but then I figured they stay alive even longer when their armor is torn off. Instead of protecting the knight's body from acid it kind of helps stomach walls to crush and grind the human. When there's something solid in the dragon's stomach the walls will try to squeeze it.

Very wonderful detail on the digestive system. And a very VERY lucky knight to get to emphasis who gets to travel through that system, how laid back the dragon is about it, and just everything! ^^
