Inside Day

It was a wonderful day, well, ok, there were grey clouds covering the whole sky,
but Nathan didn't care; he could finally go out and have fun in the park that day!

He woke up much earlier than he normally would during boring "inside" days and
took his breakfast in the basement as he had already planned to bring a bowl, some
milk and cereals in the basement's refrigerator so he could eat in a hurry while
not bothering his parents, and most importantly, not waking them up...

They had the annoying tendency to keep him inside even on "safe" days, or, at
best, keep a watch on him so he wouldn't wander too far alone. At 11 year old, he
thought he was mature enough to wander around when no alerts were given on TV. He
had been doing this for some time now, sure, it's so early that there's no one in
the park, but the sheer freedom was enough to make it worthwhile. Those long
meditating sessions, while gyrating from left to right on the swings were really
relaxing to him, like somekind of drug to heal his mind.

Also lucky for him, his parents always wake up at the same hour on week-ends,
setting up the clock for 11 am. It was easy for Nathan to sneak out and come back
unnoticed to fake his enthusiasm to go out 'for the first time' in a couple
days...
So after a simple cereal-only breakfast (which would hardly be considered
"healthy" if he based himself on the cereal ads he so often sees on TV with the
traditionnal milk, orange juice, banana and toast to accompany the cereals), he
put his shoes on and silently left the house by the basement's backdoor. After
only a few steps outside, the alarm on his watch started beeping loudly, reminding
him that it was 6 am and time to wake up, but as the watch couldn't apparently
see, that was already done...He shielded his watch with his hand to keep the noise
down and upped the pace to get farther from the house and on the cracked cement of
the small street. The air was cold and the sun nowhere to be seen, blocked by the
mass of grey clouds engulfing the sky. Nathan thought it gave a nice, dramatic,
lonely feel to the atmosphere. He kept walking slowly towards the park, which was
actually a few steps away from his house; when he was asked where he lived, he
almost always answered "In the park!" with a smile, thinking the answer was pretty
humorous and left the others guessing...He enjoyed the sight of the river to his
left but the town's main street on his right, parallel to his own street was less
inspiring, although there was but a car a minute...The park itself was separated
in 2 parts; the first was a plain grass field, used mostly for random sports by
the villagers, and the second, farther from his house, was a small amusement park,
which is where Nathan's attention was this day.

Loud, strident beeping noises suddenly started going off in the house
accompanied with a loud, but still feminine voice which repeated the same message
over and over:
"All residents of Repon are to activate their security system immediatly,
reports of danger have been issued around your area. If you are in the
impossibility of protecting yourselves, please call the emergency line at
1-450-644-7448. That's 1-450-OHH-SHHT. We wish you good luck, and a nice day!".
Nathan's parents were unwillingly woken up. His mom instinctively jumped out of
the bed and into the kitchen area to press the emergency button. Right away,
metallic plates dropped from above all the windows and doors of the house to
protect all the openings from any outside attack. All the walls were made of
extremely thick materials to withstand any beating.
With the outside light now blocked, Nathan's mother felt even better to just
head back to sleep and snuggle tight in her warm sheets. She bumped her foot on a
table leg and limped back to the bed, swearing.

In the meantime, Nathan was already on his favorite swing, facing his house in
the distance, hearing the few and far between cars rolling leasurely by, looking
down on the sand and gently kicking it. He had removed his shoes, but kept his
socks on simply to get a better feel of the smooth sand that helped clear his mind
of all thoughts. He loved the solitary feeling so much that he had butterflies in
his stomach, it made him feel like he was alive.

A distant noise broke Nathan's train of thought, he raised his head up, looked
towards the main street. The noise was actually one of a car braking violently
followed by a crashing sound. He couldn't see the car, but he could hear a
constant honking sound, he thought to himself that the driver was probably
unconscious (or dead) and had his body rested on the steering wheel. He thought it
would be in his best interest to come back home and call for help. And so he left
his swing and started running towards his house. He suddenly stopped after a few
steps and turned around to fetch his shoes, it would have been hard to explain to
his parents why they were still next to the swing in the park! He bent to grab the
first one but his heart skipped a beat; the honking sound had stopped.

That could only mean one thing to Nathan; the body had been removed from the
car, but by whom? He feared the worst and instinctively leaned towards his
house...Faint thumping sounds were then heard approaching Nathan's location, he
paniqued, now certain of the situation: there was one in the city, and it just ate
that driver. "But it can't be! There would have been a report on TV, how could it
have managed to enter the town without getting noticed?" he thought to himself.

His shoes were dropped in the sand, Nathan didn't care anymore; he wanted to get
back home alive. He ran in the open field as fast as his legs allowed him to, but
he was too late, he almost tripped when he saw the creature turn the corner and
walk on main street: standing around 18 feet high, with short, bright yellow fur,
a "healthy" round belly, imposing head and disproportioned ears; it's a Pichu
child, but his age only meant he was more voracious and playful than the adults.
Nathan saw something in its paw, it was the dead driver's body, flailing
lifelessly up and down as the Pichu walked on the main street, probing the area
for food. Pichus like to play with their preys, but get tired and uninterested if
it dies after they play too rough with it, hence why the Pichu tossed the dead
body on the concrete when it spots Nathan, running towards his house in a
completely open grass field.

Nathan's vision got blurry from the tears flowing from his eyes when he noticed
the Pichu saw him and was now running through the park to block the way to his
house. A few steps before he reached the concrete of his street, two massive paws
pushed him with great force from the left and pinned him down on his side, the
faint sound of cracking bones was heard when some of Nathan's thoracic cage's ribs
broke from the pressure. He screamed in pain while his assailant, proud of his
catch, showed a wide opened smile.

Knowing it's prey wouldn't go anywhere now, Pichu grabbed Nathan with both paws
and dropped on it's back, proudly elevating Nathan over him, shacking him like an
action figure over it's head. Pichu threw Nathan high in the air, but failed to
catch him on the way down, he landed on it's belly and slid to the side, falling
head first on the grass. Nathan tried to get back up, but his back hurt too much,
he barely tried to crawl away from the monster before it caught him again and put
Nathan on it's large, rounded stomach. Nathan quickly grabbed on to the Pichu's
fur not to fall off again but this only succeeded at making the Pichu giggle from
Nathan's tickling grip.
Nathan, desperate and hopeless, fell in tears, face first in Pichu's fur,
violently thrown up and down by the strong movements of it's lungs laughing
heartily.

The laughter gradually simmered down to a stop, Nathan could hear Pichu's heart
beating faster from the excitement. A few seconds passed in silence when Nathan
suddenly started vibrating, his head resting on Pichu's stomach, he could hear
it's muscles contract over nothing, seemingly empty, it growled to be filled once
again. He rised his head in tears to catch a glimpse of the monster's unsatisfied
emotion, followed by a smile. One of it's paws grabbed on Nathan once again as
Pichu helped himself raise to a sitting position, where he raiseed him with both
paws in front of him.

Nathan tried to scream for help, but his lungs were being compressed and only a
slight sigh was heard. He looked to his left to see his house, only a few seconds
away, windows and doors locked tight, his parents sleeping securely, protected
from any assault. He realised that even if he would be seen, no one would be able
to help him out, and besides, no one's awake at this hour on week-ends, but his
pessimistic train of thought gets interrupted when the Pichu opened it's maw wide
and approached Nathan's helpless body to it. Pichu raised him to it's nose and
lowered Nathan slowly, sticking it's tongue outside of it's mouth to lick him from
feet to head. Before his head became drenched with drool, he was terrified at the
view of Pichu's maw, his sight pans from it's bright, pink rippled upper palate to
the dark depths at the base of it's tongue.

Nathan's tears were now mixed with saliva, Pichu approached him to it's torso,
seemingly hugging him before eating him alive. He then gets raised upward towards
Pichu's opening maw. It's head was now reared and looking up, Nathan was deposited
face first on Pichu's blob-like tongue, curving to take his form and slide him to
the tongue's base. Light was getting rare inside Pichu's mouth, but Nathan could
still see the throat dilating and the uvula rising slightly to better accept his
frail body before everything went completely black. His face stopped it's descent
on a gooey surface as his body was completely dumped inside the mouth, but as soon
as his head bumped into it, it sinked in farther as a loud gulping sound was heard
around him. The wet tube now enclosed his whole body, contraction after
contraction he sinked in deeper into Pichu's body. From the outside, Pichu showed
an emotionless expression on it's face, periodically closing its eyes to pull
Nathan farther into him with each swallow.

Nathan reached a point where the top of his head felt no resistance, he entered
the hollow stomach up to his waist before being splurted out of Pichu's throat and
entirely into it's belly, producing a wet, organic sound as he fell on the
stomach's floor, with few space to move and even less air to breathe. He
gesticulated violently and gasped for air. Pichu grabbed it's belly with both paws
to feel Nathan's struggle inside it, opening it's mouth in contentment, it
chuckled for a few seconds until the movements faded to nothing. He then slowly
got back up and walked towards Nathan's previous house. It banged on the walls a
little to spot a flaw in the security, but gave up when he saw that there was
none, he walked away with a filled enough stomach for the day.

Nathan's parents, awakened and frightened by the attack, thanked God to have
spared them for one more day. Nathan's mom fell into prayer, she asked that
nothing happens to her son, but her husband recomforted her, pointing out how safe
the house was!
