A Sub’s Fate Strikes Back

Kenya McNeil walked into Mike Burkly’s classroom. It was lunch
time, and her usual habit was to eat lunch with the physics
substitute and discuss the progress of their respective classes.
Kenya taught Calculus, which tied nicely to the upper-class physics
classes. Today, though, Kenya had some work to take care of for the
upcoming Math Bowl, so was just swinging by Mike’s classroom to let
him know she was canceling.

Mike Burkly watched Kenya McNeil walk out of his classroom, the sway
of her hips driving him crazy. Kenya was a math teacher at Wardmoore
High School, responsible for the calculus classes that were taught
alongside Mike’s physics classes. Since the material of their
classes was linked they collaborated often.

The bell at the end of lunch was about to ring, so Ms. McNeil was
heading back to her class on the other side of the building.

A look of panic crossed Dominique’s face. She was sitting with her

Recap: When we last left our quartet, Mike Burkly, mild-mannered
substitute physics teacher at Wardmoore High School had somehow

attempt at applying to PhD programs had failed, he needed a job to
