Is his belly normally that big, or have all the other people waiting for the bus taken him up on his offer to keep warm (I'm guessing) inside his belly?

Oh wow, well, sure! I'd love that. And he's naturally that big, his digestive tract is hypersized (Bowels big enough to crawl through, stomach big enough to hold numerous amounts of people comfortably, etc.)
