The assassin bugs name is something of a misnomer. The bug has been suspected in a few disappearances but has never even been implicated in any killings or even assassination attempts. It gets its name because of the it’s ninja like appearance and odd ability to walk right past people without them seeming to see it. It uses some trick of the mind, we don't quite understand, that prevents onlookers from perceiving her as a threat or even something out of place. Armed guards, posted outside extremely sensitive areas, have been recorded, on video, nodding casually to her as she walks by them. Even the guard assigned to watch the video feeds testified as to not remembering seeing anything thing unusual that day. Only after seeing the video afterward did they realize their mistake.
The primary role of the assassin bug is stealth and recon. It is often employed for abductions but rarely ever against military targets. When a bug is killed and its host reclaimed by the humans, its the assassin bugs job to retrieve her and re-assimilate her into the hive.
The assassin bug is not like many bugs in the hive in one major respect. It does not chose it's host. The queen implants her with a special egg. The nursing bug then feeds it until it matures. The gestation period for the bug is a difficult factor to nail down, as the creature never fully leaves her womb. That said , it spends roughly 6 weeks fully insider her, constantly being attended to by the nursing bug. Once it is time for it to be 'birthed' the nursing bug leaves her and the red tentacle with the eye on it is initially the only thing to come out. From there the assassin bug's host is carefully guarded but free to move about as she wills. The reason for this freedom is that only devoted hosts are chosen by the queen to bare the assassin bug. By this time the host has been fully indoctrinated into the hive and has absolutely no desire to leave. She is a loyal slave and her mind is beyond recovery and integration into normal human society. The queen only wants a loyal host because her child must be protected by the host until it is mature enough to take over her body.
From here the creature continues to grow using stored up energy. It will take a week or so before it has grown and covered enough of it's host's body to feed on her breast milk. By this time, she has gone from looking nine months pregnant to looking about 4 months pregnant. ( She will continue to look 4 months pregnant for the rest of her life because inside her womb is were the creature's brain, heart and other internal organs reside.) The host has been allowing other bugs to milk her these past few days as her breasts have been aching to be milked due to there permanat lactation. She will be relieved when her master has covered enough of her body to milk her, him self. It will take about two more months before it has covered her whole body and a few days after that before it has fully taken control her body. From then on, she has no control over he body unless the creature gives it to her. Once a host has been taken over by the creature, removing it, though possible with surgery, is not recommend. The host often survives the procedure but dies shortly thereafter. There is no medical reason for the death. The leading theory is that she dies of depression. A broken heart if you will. She can not bear to be separated from her master or the hive.
Fun facts, the hosts hands are balled up inside the arm of the creaure. It uses it's own hands to manipulate things. Also, on the feet is a long prehensile toe that can be used inconjungtion with the feet to grip things, making this creature an agile climer. An effective and useful trate for a recon scout.

Reminds me of a creature I created, and they basically are 'born' the same way, only my creature are born to subjugate their hosts, they don't need a subservient host....they prefer a fight :P

yeah I like that Idea too but I figured that the hive would want some one that wouldn't try to falcon punch her own baby. I love the idea of subjagation. my favorite creation is still the psyclops hood. thanks for the comment.

Well, with all my characters there is some sort of subjugation, whether for the host or prey. Those who prove themselves to be strong willed usually end up being converted, while the weaker minded usually end up as sex slaves or as fat on one of The Mother's offspring's bellies :)

Nice new bug. I love how the bug grows its armor over the host body.
