Again for the First Time
The
next few days passed in a bit of a blur for Lee. After the thwarted
attack that night (Grim had identified the creatures as being
‘bilgers’, the natural predators of the villagers, the
‘dwilins’), the villagers had come out to express their gratitude
toward the strange trio. Just as Lee had predicted, when morning
came, a funeral service of sorts was held for all those lost the

Grim had his head resting against Dietrich’s chest, listening to

name is Ed and I’m an enforcer. For those of you that don’t know

wasn’t sure what woke him first: the pounding on the door or
Dietrich jerking awake, thus jostling him as well. They both blinked

apartment windows were dark; it was still the middle of the night.

the Dragon
It
was eight in the morning and Dietrich couldn’t find his pants. This
was a first for the half-dragon, seeing as he normally kept good
track of all of his belongings. He rummaged around underneath his
bedside table, but came up with nothing but a few dustbunnies. He
huffed and stood up, bashing his head against the underside of the
table with a muffled ‘ow’ and leaving two gouges in it with his

Spring:
