have a surprise for you.”
Mac read and re-read
the note as the walked through the packed Restaurant. The dragon at
the front desk said that his 'charming fox friend' had left the
message for him, and Mac was intrigued. He picked his head up,
knowing when Jake meant by “they back”, as there were some
private rooms that the two of them had started frequenting now that
the Restaurant had grown in popularity.

squinting his eyes off in the direction that had been indicated to
him by the enormous white ferret he had recently befriended. A brief
movement caught his eye, and his heart leaped. The predator they had
been tracking for the past few hours came into view. The great black
wolf was lounging among a field of rocks that were a similar color to
his fur. The beast looked exhausted, panting with its eyes closed,
leaned up against a rock.

Mac strolled down the
aisle with his hands in his pockets, sighing at the groupings of
people around each predator. The Restaurant had been increasing in
popularity in recent weeks, and the ability to feed oneself to a
predator rarely came without a wait in line. He scanned the crowds
for Jake, unable to find his fox friend in all the hustle and bustle.

people resulted in the ability to hire new predators, which kept Mac

the Reverse Restaurant indecisively, passing by predator after
predator, more than half of which he had been consumed by on previous
visits. He had officially reached the point where he had lost count
of how often he had been here. The thought made him grin.
His desire to try
something new every time was making it difficult for him to find
anything on each subsequent visit. There were only so many different
