The origins of The Bolas are not known at this time. Rumors regarding its creation vary wildly, with some suggesting it was conjured from a pact with a cheated djinn that continues to pursue its crew in search of compensation, and others claiming it rose without warning or reason from the depths of the miasma one day- and into its fumes it returns every night. The only thing unifying all these theories seems to be the consensus that the ship is not of terrestrial origin. What is known are the special attributes of the ship: Key among these being is ability to repair damage done to its hull and sails without the aid of human hands, its ability to sail through sand and stone as easily as it would through empty air, and the ever-present aroma of decay that heralds is presence from miles away. It current captain is Presley Walsh, and though she often appears to know the secrets of her vessel, she has yet to divulge them to any parties that lived long enough to tell their tale. Presley charters the ship to wealthy clientele looking to explore their darker fantasies on what she's come to call ‘pleasure cruises.’
