"The subject's growth has been stymied in order to make testing simpler and more potent. She will grow, but at a severely reduced rate. We estimate she will reach a final height of four feet by the time she has matured. All this is mere preparation for the real experiment of course. We feel success is highly probable given the open and flexible state of the subject's chi. She has willingly opened her spiritual core to change, and change she shall."

"We operated on the subject today, removing her human ears and implanting genes into her which should result in the ears and tail of the extinct neko species. These jeans should also affect the growth of her teeth, but we cannot be sure. Perhaps they may even prompt her to behave in a more catlike manner when she matures."

"I am excited to report that the subject has begun to sprout the expected ears and tail. In addition, we have noted some... dramatic changes to her physiology and psychology. She has indeed begun to act more like the ancient neko, though it is difficult to confirm the magnitude of such changes due to her still being a child."

"Progress could not be more positive. The subject has developed into a fine young lady, and a near look-alike to the ancient neko. That said, we have encountered a few... vexing hiccups. First and most notably, the strange matter of her pigmentation. The subject's hair and eyes have begun to inexplicably pinken. We estimate these changes are permanent, and we are loathe to try to stop them out of fear of upsetting her chi. Something in her seems to want to become pink, as ridiculous as the idea sounds. We will continue research on this development.
Second is her sexuality. Since the subject has long since reached human puberty, we have long expected her to express sexual desire toward males... females... anything. However, all tests indicate that the subject is completely uninterested in reproduction or even recreational sex. This is evidently an issue if we hope to rekindle the neko race. More extensive study is needed."

"I fear this is the last log we shall make. The subject's chi has erupted uncontrollably, turning against us and preventing us from any further experimentation. I cannot fathom what we have done to anger the subject, but her very being refuses to be experimented upon any longer. Perhaps we have pushed her to her limit, in which case we can do nothing but conduct a few final examinations. Regrettably, we have been unable to fix the issue of her sexuality, but at least we now have a prototype on which we can base future subjects. Overall, I would consider this entire endeavour to be a decent success. I am not sure exactly what we should do with this subject, perhaps release her. I shall further consult her chi and note what it tells me."
