Just wondering: why is the watermelon all roped up? To keep it from getting away? XD

In anime I see watermelon in a rope "cage" tied to a big stick or "anchor" so they don't carried away by the stream as they cool down. Oomhai just happened to walk by it and got curious seeing as how she's never seen a watermelon before.

It's so the watermelon doesn't float away as it's cooling down in a stream during a hot summer's day.
