The first step is to select a likely person to be your friend. Look for someone who is on there own as they are the most likely to need a friend. It also helps if they are distracted, and you can sneak up without being noticed.

Next you should introduce yourself. A surprise tail hug is a good way to start, but be sure to get a good grip or you won't be able to move on to step 3.

If your chosen friend responds well to your tail hug, (not escaping is a sure sign of this) then you can cement your friendship with a nice tight gullet-hug.

Congratulations, you have now made a friend. They may wriggle a bit as they acclimatize to their situation, just be sure to use lots of warm stomach acids and they soon settle down.

Finally, once you have finished with your friend, it's considerate to others to deposit them somewhere where people won't step in them.
