In Mia's defence, the couple she swallowed did try to capture her and make her a Halloween attraction. She just got to them first. Unfortunately, they don't quite seem to get the hint that Mia's not like every other ghost.

Ghost's can't digest prey... per se. The worst they'll do is absorb them for a certain period of time to absorb some of their life force. Some can hold prey longer than others, but eventually they'll just re-materialize and phase out of the ghost's body with memories of either a nightmare or a surreal dream.
