Living in a rural
part of the country had tons of benefits for Joel. He was never keen
to socializing, but rather preferred isolation. Having his own place
tucked away off the main roads, miles from the nearest town meant was
perfection to him. The only people he had regular contact with were
his nearest neighbors down on the McMurhon Farm. Joseph McMurhon and
his two sons, David and Caleb, owned and operated the farm and Joel
would drive over to visit with them once every other week to purchase

The patrol car slowly pulled up to the eerily silent farmhouse. The waning moon provided little illumination deep within the densly forested woods and the two police officers were forced to rely on the high beams to navigate to the McMurhon's isolated residence. No one had heard from the family in several days, and the recent reports of odd animal sightings in the vacinity had warranted a trip to ensure all was status quo in their quiet rural precinct.
