characters have access to a resource known as action points. they get
a total of 20+class level of a PC class they possess per level,
which cannot be renewed except by gaining another level. once spent,
an action point is gone forever. these are the following uses of
action points, barring taking action point related feats. (which will
get their own list) you can only spend one action point per
