Oh boy! Out of her desperation Ahri kind of threw a spell out kind of at random. Well her prison isn't made of stone anymore. In fact it's much soft and more inviting. Though, Ahri seems to have quickly realized the grave mistake she's made.

The artist broke that one some time ago. They handwaved that Ahri can "Hear" Sona because of her magic fox ears or something like that.
