I may not be much of a gamer, but I sure know what Deathclaws are and I think they are pretty
awesome.

They are big, carnivorous, and they've got huge claws, lots of teeth, and they are reptilian. Based off of what I've read they are a mix of many species, but primarily a mutated Chameleon.

Either way, despite their obvious enemy ranking in the Fallout Series, I have the notion that they are misunderstood and can also be big and loveable snuggly creatures, that when they find someone who will be gentle and caring with them, that they in return will be protective and not exactly pet-like, but certainly have a certain level of trust with their new companion.

Then of course the trust level goes way up when they start to play around with the carnivorous tendencies that Deathclaws have.

I've always wanted to do some Deathclaw vore, perhaps this could end up being a new OC as I find them truly fascinating and adorable.

Ah screw it, the more I was writing the more I knew I had to make this my next OC.
Okay, his name is Gary, its the name that came to me. It feels right. His birthday is January 10.
So now I will have to come up with Gary's story, which I will do in time (I mean I haven't even made Garth's story for crying out loud)

He came to be after Azathura surprised gifted me with this picture, since he knew my adoration of Deathclaws.

spoiler if you've not played Fallout 4, deathclaws ARE very loving animals. one mission which is at the witchcraft place is that the gunners were taking a briefcase to a person and it turns out that there was deathclaw eggs inside. but all were broke but one, and with you inter you have to kill a huge deathclaw and then you have a choice with the last good egg: to give it to the person or give it back to the daddy deathclaw. if you give it back he will not attack you ever I do believe. that just show that they are loving creatures.

You're not wrong about the love and loyalty. As the previous poster mentioned, there is a daddy deathclaw who will, peacefully, let you return the egg to the nest and is just happy to have it back and will leave you alone. (Of course, he'll attack if you take the egg again, or act in any other threatening manner.) So long as you're civil, you can just chill with the beast (who is an albino in my game, so super awesome) .. get a good close look and so forth..

But wait, there's more! Back in Fallout 2, the Enclave were reopening experiments with FEV, and used Deathclaws as one of many test subjects. Originally engineered by the pre-war US government for front line shock troop cannon fodder, refined by The Master (who made the first super mutants) as research and practice in controlling FEV mutations, then reappropriated by the ENclave (post-war remnant of the US government) for further experimentation.

Oddly, while FEV tends to lower the intelligence of most mammals, it increases intelligence in reptilians. There was a colony of intelligent deathclaws that escaped the Enclave and made a nest in the now-abandoned Vault 13. Most had the intelligence of an 8 year old human, but some were on par with humans. They showed an extremely close family pack bond, and made sure to take care of those under their protection. Including the few misfit humans who lived with them.

Unfortunately, the enclave saw their intelligence as a threat and wiped them out; canonically no intelligent deathclaws survived to breed any further, including Goris, who was an intelligent albino who could join your party (and who wore a huge brown cloak when in towns to hide what he was).
