I'd never gotten anything from The Saint of Ravens before a couple days ago. Their style didn't appeal to me the same way other artists did. We started talking about that, and after discussing what kept me away and why, they whipped up this (well, this was second, after I realized how much I liked it).
I love it, needless to say. Definitely plan on getting more.

So the thing I really like about The Saint of Raven's work is that his sketchy and irregular lineart actually gives the image a certain "attitude" or tone. I think it's the sort of way that Bob Dylan or Motorhead's Lemmy don't sing with perfect pitch but for some reason their vocal flaws fit the mood the song is trying to capture.
The Saint of Ravens, to date, is the only person I've ever commissioned because his drawings always focus on portraying scenarios really well rather than perfecting the image itself.
