considering what happened to the last person that managed to actually eat Sam, or at least her soul anyway, that gatherer might be in for a surprise.

oh and don't worry about missing the update. if it wasn't ready it wasn't ready.

Just read the entire story. This would make a good novel. The kami, both gatherers and regals, are fascinating. One has to wonder how enormous the leaders are. Perhaps they eat other gatherers. I'm still holding out hope that Sam finds a single person in this world she can trust. Otherwise, she's going to be very lonely at the end. Perhaps Mara will be that individual, disproving the theory that gatherers devour everyone in the end. Either way, a fascinating read. Can't wait till next chapter!
