Alice lost to Marisa despite wielding her original grimoire.
This would have been a bit better if the penalty wasn't to get gurgles.

...I would actually see Alice holding back even if defeat would result in noms.
Since she is so powerful that she will probably be fine~

I mean, according to her wiki, Alice is super strong but will only use power level that is little above that of her opponent... and she will hold back even if it would mean losing.
Also it seems that she was a few times retconned so maybe I am wrong.
