I'm surprised the Prince didn't warn them earlier about the dangers of calling Elders "Giants". He knew it was a pet peeve of Tors.

I'm going with there was little to no interaction between the two over the course of the week. Tor gave Eric the food and he gave it to the humans. If they needed something, the doctor spoke to Eric. But yes, shame on him for waiting so long to say something! Bad teenage boy distracted by pretty girls!
