Everyone was expecting angel next, but everyone forgets Celestia has a pet phoenix.
Angel is next though just gonna be a bit longer as i have plans for a few drawings with Spike x Angel
This drawing has been finished for about 3-4 days now just haven't uploaded it as i was playing breath of the wild >.>
This was also the first idea i had for this series and was the main reason i started it.
Anyway as always feedback is greatly appreciated i changed the colors for the shading so its a little softer this time around.

so... did she get digested and just resurrect like phoenixes are wont to do, or was she just too hot for spike's stomach to handle in the first place?

I personally would say she got digested and then resurrected inside the belly.
However how you interpret it works just as well ^~^

Can you make a sequel of spike catching the phoenix again and is abke to keep her down if inpay for it
